If you have never been to St. Louis, Missouri, fall is one of the best times of the year to go. In addition to cooler and less humid weather, this city has a lot of exciting things to offer.

The Top 10

  1. Changing Colors – During the fall, leaves on the trees change into magnificent colors of orange, red, and yellow. Similar to what you would expect from New England, St. Louis is simply beautiful during the fall. If you love the outdoors, this is a perfect time to visit.
  1. Gateway Arch – The entire family can enjoy a ride up to the top of the Arch, a symbol of the city. From the observation point at the top, you can see for miles around.
  1. Forest Park – Almost 50% larger than New York’s Central Park, Forest Park is truly magnificent. In the fall, the colors are breathtaking. You can take a leisurely stroll or one of the many free concerts, including the St. Louis Symphony Free Concert set for Sept. 9.
  1. Historic Shaw Art Fair – This fair focuses on architecture. On Oct. 4 and 5, there will be 135 exhibitors spread out over the Historic Shaw district, and you can enjoy food from various vendors.
  1. Harvest Festival – On Oct. 19, this festival will feature incredible food from some of the top restaurants in St. Louis, along with a farmers market, arts/crafts booths, live music, family games, and more.
  1. Film Festival – Scheduled for Nov. 13 is the Whitaker St. Louis International Film Festival. This year, there will be more than 400 films screened, many of them critically acclaimed.
  1. Louis History – To learn more about the history of St. Louis, you should consider going to the World’s Fare Heritage Festival and Games. This unique “green” celebration will take place Sept. 12 through 15 and include educational displays, reenactments, and live musical performances by local and national recording artists.
  1. Beer Celebration – On Sept. 19 is the Budweiser Taste of St. Louis, an award-winning celebration of fantastic food, culture, music, art, and, of course, beer.
  1. Grove Fest – At this year’s Grove Fest will be lots of food, dancing, and partying on the streets of the Grove. This diverse celebration is scheduled for Oct. 4.
  1. German Festival – On Oct. 10 and 12 is Soulard Octoberfest for everyone to enjoy. The festival will include GFolk dancers, all types of German food and beers, and a great time for all who come.
