happy easter

Well, all the ice has disappeared from the rivers, and the daffodils have established themselves along the banks, letting you know that spring is definitely here. If you are heading to the Lou for Easter, here are some suggestion for the weekend.

EGG HUNTS

Come check out a different kind of Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 16th at the St. Louis Zoo. This time it’s the Zoo’s residents that hunt for eggs and enjoy special Easter treats while visitors watch their escapades. Activities run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Easter Sunday.

Pere Marquette Lodge along the Illinois River in the state park north of the city will hosts an egg hunt on Easter Sunday from 12 to 2. Easter brunch is also available at the lodge for $28.95 for adults and $10.95 for children ages 4 to 11.

St Louis’ popular children’s museum, Magic House, is taking a page from the White House and hosting an Easter Egg Roll on the Monday after Easter. Children will compete to see who can roll eggs with large spoons over the finish line on the front lawn of the museum in Kirkwood. Other activities include egg decorating, storytelling and a visit from the Easter Bunny. All activities are included in the $11 admission fee.

But hey, there is no reason why the kids get to have all the fun. Adults can head out to Forrest Park for an after-dark egg hunt. There will be 1,000 plastic eggs hidden around the park grounds, with special prizes such as gift certificates, coupons, treats, and cash. Adult beverages will also be available. The event kicks off the evening of April 15th at 6:30 p.m. with the hunt commencing at 7 p.m. Kirkwood Park will be having their own adult egg hunt on Friday night with music starting at 7:30 p.m.
