Exciting Events in Your Area

St. Louis Car ServiceAmerica’s run in the World Cup may be over, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to stop cheering. Our national soccer team may not be out there rallying fans any longer, but that doesn’t mean that your regional teams aren’t still going strong. The St. Louis area is prepping for some big sporting events in the month of July. It’s time to put away your soccer blues and get ready to cheer on your favorite local sports teams.

It’s Baseball Season at Busch

July is when Cardinal Nation is in its prime. The kids are out of school, the sun is in the sky, and there is no more perfect time to make a trip to beautiful Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis. Any time that you decide to take a trip to the stadium, you are guaranteed to have a wonderful time. However, there are a couple of exciting nights coming up at Busch Stadium that will make your night at the ballpark even more fun than it usually is.

If you’re kids love Star Wars and baseball, you cannot pass up the opportunity to celebrate both at the same time. Busch Stadium’s annual Star Wars night is coming up on July 9th. The Star Wars themed event at the stadium is fun not only for boys and girls who love the movies and the cartoon, it is also fun for adults who grew up with Star Wars as well. When you purchase the special event tickets to Star Wars Night, you will also receive a themed t-shirt featuring the St. Louis Cardinals logo being projected by R2D2. Another fun event coming up is the Christmas in July night. You will also want to keep your eyes peeled for special nights coming up in August, for example a special appearance by celebrity Jon Hamm.

Sports Aren’t Just for Watching This Summer

Attending a sporting event doesn’t always mean that you will be sitting down and watching players do all the action. There are plenty of upcoming sporting events in the St. Louis area in which you can participate. The MuckFest is once again making its annual appearance on July 12th. The event is a 5k run that is put on every year to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The MuckFest is not your average marathon. Instead of simply running through the streets of the city, at the MuckFest, you will be getting dirty running through obstacle courses full of water, mud, and dirt. The fun and playful side of this special race makes the marathon feel more like a field da y than a charity event. If you are interested in participating, register online now.

Summer is also a fantastic time to get your children involved in sports programs in the city. St. Louis University provides wonderful summer camps for children in the area every year. Coming up on July 18-20 is the Billiken Team Soccer Camp for boys.  The camp is provided both as daytime only or an overnight event. The price of the camp varies depending on which option you choose. Girls may be excited to sign up for the Volleyball camps taking place on July 8-16th and July 7-17th.

It’s time that you take advantage of the lovely summer weather while you can. Summer is the time to be active and get outside. Attending or participating in a sporting event is the perfect way to take advantage of the weather before you’ll be cooped back up inside for the winter. To keep yourself updated on all of the sporting events and activities taking place around you this summer, do some quick research online or pay close attention to updates in the Post Dispatch and the River Front Times.
