Hiking at Castlewood State Park
Located along the Meramec River, this immensely popular park is a great place for avid hikers and bikers from all around. Here, you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views, and there is a total of eight trails varying in length and difficulty that will suit all levels of hiking experience. If you’re unsure of the difficulty level and paths, you can always consider enjoying this activity with a friend who’s familiar with the area and is able to guide you comfortably and safely.

Visiting Soulard Farmers Market
There are farmers markets, and then there’s the historic Soulard Farmers Market that’s been in operation for nearly 200 years in the Soulard neighbourhood. Here, you can definitely find a wide variety of produce and products ranging from cheese and local vegetables to different types of spices and other non-food items. If you’re looking to soak in the atmosphere, go on a Saturday as it is when the market is at its busiest.

Picnicking at Forest Park
Unless it’s snowing or raining, there really isn’t much else that the weather can throw at you to deter you from having a grand picnic. At the 1,300-acre Forest Park, you’ll find many of St. Louis’ top cultural institutions, and it’s also a hot spot for the region’s annual events. This popular park is a favorite among locals and tourists alike, and if you’re not convinced, just spend a day there and you’ll see what we mean.

Join the Bellefontaine Cemetery Fox Trot Run/Walk
Before you get irked out by the word “cemetery”, let’s just say that the route goes directly through the Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum, and you’re going to be surrounded by lots of people early in the morning, so there really isn’t anything to fear. The fox trot is also in acknowledgement of resident foxes, but other than that, it’s really all about getting out there, meeting new people and just enjoying the great outdoors.
