Booking a Flight Through Washington Regional Airport

Are you traveling into the St. Louis area for business? Business trips can be stressful enough. The last thing you need to worry about is dealing with the massive traffic coming in and out of St. Louis Lambert Field, especially when you need to get your travel out of the way quickly. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to avoid air travel. The good news, however, is that you can avoid the hassle of Lambert Airport by being a little bit smarter when you are booking your flights. For example, the St. Louis area is home to many smaller regional airports in addition to their International hub. Instead of booking a flight through Lambert, you should consider flying into Washington Regional Airport.

The Advantages of Regional Travel

There are several advantages to flying into regional airports. In terms of domestic travel, they can be major time savers. Major airline hubs tend to be more centrally located. However, when you fly into large airports you also have to contend with massive crowds of travelers, giant buildings with multiple terminals, and stricter and more stringent security processes. When you fly regional, you can shave hours off your journey by avoiding long lines and tight security stipulations. You are also less likely to have flight delays and cancellations as the airport mostly serves private and corporate airliners as well as small charter airlines.

Washington Regional Airport is located in Marthasville Missouri, a mere hour’s journey outside of downtown St. Louis. When you consider the hassle that you might have to put up with when flying into Lambert, the hour long commute may be well worth the time. A relaxing commute inside a corporate limo or town car can give you time to decompress and prepare yourself for business when you would otherwise be spending that time jumping through hoops at St. Louis’ major airport.

Booking a Hotel in St. Louis

When booking a hotel for your stay, you should consider the surrounding area outside of the city. A smart choice would be to book a hotel room halfway between your business destination and the airport. Staying at a halfway point will lessen the commute both to the office and back to the airport. One place to consider is Chesterfield, Missouri. Chesterfield is a large suburb of St. Louis located on highway 64 equidistant from downtown St. Louis and Marthasville. Chesterfield is home to many hotels including the Hilton Doubletree, Drury Plaza, The Hyatt, and more. Also in Chesterfield are dozens of delicious dining options both chain and local and mall.

If you are spending the bulk of your time in the city, booking a hotel near the office would be more practical. When traveling to St. Louis for business, it is most likely that your destination will be either downtown, or in Clayton. Clayton Missouri is home to a large number of businesses in the St. Louis area and has a reputation for being an upper middle and high class neighborhood. Among many businesses, Clayton is also home to the St. Louis Ritz Carlton and the Four Seasons Hotel. Downtown St. Louis is also home to some luxurious hotel accommodations including, The Westin St. Louis, The Hyatt Regency, and The Renaissance Hotel.

Renting a charter flight or flying into a regional airport via a corporate jet is the perfect way to start your business trip off on the right foot. The easier you can make your travel, the more alert and focused you will be when it comes time to get to work. With so many regional airports located around the St. Louis area, there is no reason to stress yourself out with a trip on an uncomfortable major airline when you have the option to fly in privately. You can learn more about the Washington Regional Airport and the nearby area by doing some research online.
