Taste the Best of St. Louis Wineries
The Leading Provider of St. Louis Limo Wine Tours
St. Louis is home to the first wine country in the United States, with a rich history of award-winning varietals. In the mid 19th-century, German-American immigrants with knowledge of viticulture founded the area’s first vineyards just west of the city. With the exception of the Prohibition era in the early 20th century, many of these St. Louis wineries have been in continual operation ever since. Today, the area remains one of the most-beloved and critically-acclaimed viticulture hubs in the states, best known for their powerhouse Norton Reds and complex white Zinfandels.

Often described as one of the “most scenic” St. Louis Wineries, Montelle offers sweeping views of nature. It has been in continuous operation since 1970. In addition to an excellent array of wines, Montelle features an on-site distillery which produces apple, cherry, peach and grape brandies. After sampling the wines, guests can enjoy lunch or dinner at the cafe.
This winery is family-owned and operated by the Millers, who honed their winemaking skills with apprenticeships in California’s Napa Valley before opening for business. Guests can pick between dozens of options at their tasting, which range from very dry selections to dessert ports. In addition to being a sought-after destination for St. Louis wine tours, Sugar Creek is a popular wedding venue due to the beautifully-maintained facilities.
Visiting Balducci’s is a bit like stepping into an Italian vineyard. The rustic feel and friendly staff have contributed to the site being named the top winery by the Washington Missourian for seven consecutive years. In addition to seven different wines available for sampling, Balducci has an award-winning Italian restaurant on site.
Founded in 1988 by third-generation winemaker Tony Kooyumijan, Augusta’s award-winning wines are produced in very small batches to ensure quality. The site features live musical entertainment on the weekends between May and October, and offers guests the opportunity to enjoy locally-made cheeses and cured meats to accompany their wines.
Cedar Lake Cellars
It’s easy to get lost in the cellars at Cedar Lake, who offer a wide variety of Missouri wines, in addition to their own microbrews and extensive options from around the world. Guests can also enjoy farm-to-table fare at the on-site restaurant, including the option of private dining for large groups. Spend a few hours, or spend an afternoon tasting their award-winning options.
With the exception of the Prohibition era, Hermanhoff’s historic wine-making facilities have been in use since 1848. Today, the winery is at the cutting-edge of production methods, but visiting is something of a step into the past due to the historic look and feel of the site. Guests can sample their critically-acclaimed wines, which are responsible for making Hermanhoff the only two-time winner of the prestigious Brown Forman Trophy for excellence in American winemaking.
